THE TEAM
The Prospector has now established itself as a staple on the New Zealand mountain bike scene. Created by Alexandra locals James Williamson and Phil Oliver, the race is “designed by mountain bikers for mountain bikers”. Here are some of the core team but it takes a village to pull off an event like this.

Having raced bikes since getting out of nappies, my passion for the sport runs thick as blood. Biking has given me a lot over the years and allowed me to travel the world. It has also given me an intense appreciation for just how lucky we are to live here in Alexandra with world class riding on our doorstep. Creating an event that showcases this has always been a dream of mine, one day I hope to be able to get between the tape and race myself!

Lisa Hoskin
Event Operations | Athlete Services
An event geek from way back, Lisa’s experience organising events spans almost 20 years and includes festivals, arts, sporting and corporate events in Australia and NZ. Now a co-owner of Prospector she can be found on her computer answering athlete enquiries, writing run sheets that no one reads and talking on radios. Her adventures are usually involve 4 wheels or a boat rather than a bike but don’t hold it against her.

Sophie Luther
Marketing & Publicity
The marketing and publicity guru on the team, Sophie has an extensive background with amazing sporting events – both competing and promoting. She’s a ring in from the wilds of Wanaka but we don’t hold that against her due to her never ending enthusiasm and knowledge of all things.
